I have been coming to Southland for over 20 years. It has my favorite Taiwanese dishes when I've craving for some home town food! I recently just ordered their non-fried intestines appetizer dish. It was so good. Vege prices have gone up significantly but I guess so has everything else. I just wish they wouldn't charge $17 for a $5 vege dish.

We stopped by on a Saturday for lunch around noon. The cafe wasn't too crowded, but started to fill up after we ordered and started eating. Service was good. I accidentally spilled tea over the table and the staff was quick to provide towels to sop it up and dry the table surface. Bawan | $8.75 I've been craving bawan, and the dish sure hit the spot here. It's meatball, mushrooms, and veggies wrapped in a savory mochi skin topped with a sweet ketchup-y sauce. Yumm! Chicken & Egg Fried Rice | $13.50 The chicken and egg fried rice was okay, though a bit wetter than I expected and more soy sauce heavy in terms of taste. They use short grain rice, and the chicken was tender. I probably would order one of the rice plate dishes instead next time. Daikon Cake | $8.50 Came with 5 think slices of daikon radish cake accompanied with oyster sauce. These were hot and crispy, but didn't have much inclusions inside. I was expecting chunks of daikon and bits of shrimp for flavoring. There wasn't much daikon inside though and no savory shrimp or other veggies. It was pretty much just a thick rice cake. Would get something else next time instead. Overall, I'd be back again to have the bawan and try out other menu items. Southland Flavors is a good option if you're craving Taiwanese fare.

Just came back from a recent Taiwan trip and was craving some Taiwanese small eats. Southland Flavor cafe definitely satisfied my craving and the service was surprisingly fast!! Our food came out in a few minutes and the portions were just right. The menu had hundreds of dishes to choose from at an affordable price. Our meal for two came out to be ~$26. This might be my new go to spot for Taiwanese food!

Taiwanese restaurant in Cupertino next to a 99 Ranch offering Tainan (southern part of Taiwan) style food. Specifically, their food is supposed to be reminiscent of street food in Taiwan. They have a very wide range of selections ranging from small bites to noodle and rice dishes. We were seated immediately for a table for 2 early on a Friday evening. We tried their oyster omelette, gua bao (pork belly bao), pig ear, and dry fun (wide rice noodles) with ground pork. All the dishes were good and came out super fast! My favorite out of these was the dry fun; the noodle just soaked up all the sauce and was packed with flavor. We also bought some frozen Taiwanese sausage home to grill the next day for a BBQ and they were a hit! I'd definitely recommend stopping by to check out some Taiwanese small bites or just a normal meal. There's something for everyone here with their extensive menu.

It's been over 10 years since we've been here and I am upset at myself for waiting this long. On a cold rainy day, I was craving some noodle soup. Usually, I'll go get pho on a day like this but since I've had it quite a bit, I wanted to go in a different direction - beef noodle soup! I searched a few places but don't really have a goto place that's nearby. We randomly remembered going to this plaza and getting food Taiwanese food in which we could try getting noodle soup here. We previously came here for their delicious rice plates. As we walked in on a Sunday afternoon, it was busy as usual and our wait was very short. Their menu is extremely extensive and will have whatever you are craving that day. We decided to order the house beef noodle soup & the pork chop and rice. The beef noodle soup is by far the best I've ever had and it's not even close. The broth tasted like it's been boiled overnight in which translated to the richness and amazing flavors - such a comforting soup. Their noodles tasted freshly made and it was packed with tender pieces of beef. The bowl initially looked on the smaller side but don't let that fool you - it will be plenty to make you full. The pork chop and rice was a fun dish. The first bite of rice you will take will be soaked in the sauce which will be such a satisfying bite. The pork chops were delicious, had the right bite and the marinade was delicious. Love how the plate came with different veggies which you can mix match with every bite. There was a decent amount of meat on the plate and was very fairly priced for the amount you get. Perfect for a lunch plate! The service was fast and they greeted everyone immediately which was nice. Happy to see this place is still around and I recommend you coming here for some great Taiwanese food!
